Geotextiles & Erosion Control
Geotextile Fabric:
A non-woven geotextile that is available in 3 ounce to 16 ounce weight sizes, with 8 ounce being the most popular. Non-woven geotextile fabric is installed under synthetic liners as protective layer from rough sub grades. In some cases it is installed both below and above synthetic liners for additional protection. Typical roll sizes are 15' wide by 300' or 4,500 square feet.
Geocomposite Membrane:
Geocomposite is a heavy duty HDPE meshed membrane sandwiched between two layers of either 6, 8 or 10 ounce non-woven geotextile fabric. It can used as a protective membrane below synthetic liners where rough sub grades exist but it's primary use is where a leak detection system is required. It is installed between two layers ofsynthetic liner In the event of damage and subsequent leakage from the top layer of liner, water or liquids can flow through the geocomposite to pre-designated low area. The water or liquid collected is this area is connected to a detection device, which alerts personnel early of a leak problem.
